Branch Pub of the Year

Presentation to the State Bar

The branch's main annual awards were decided during the AGM which was held in early March. Since then there has been very little has happened while we waited for conditions to improve. Six months on with normal branch activity still looking a long way off we decided to make our awards in more private settings than usual. The first award was for the State Bar in Holland Street, Glasgow which became our overall branch Pub of the Year for 2019. The photo shows branch chairman Johnnie McKenna presenting the Jason Lyons Trophy to Nancy Lyons, the State Bar's licensee (and Jason Lyons' mother). The State Bar is a regular winner of this award due to the consistency of the beers served and the wide range of styles available.
