Hall of Fame
Pub of the Year
Four awards are normally made each year, one for each of the areas the branch covers.
The pubs for each area are chosen by an election held during a branch meeting. Currently, these occur for Argyll, Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Glasgow in successive months during the second half of each year. Members who are unable to attend the meeting may also vote on-line prior to the meeting. The short-list of pubs eligible for election is decided by members at the previous month's meeting. Various factors are discussed when forming the short-list, including the scores received from CAMRA's National Beer Scoring System.
The definitions of the area boundaries have changed over the years with pre-1974 county lines sometimes taking precedence over more modern divisions.
The Village Inn in Arrochar has the unique honour of receiving awards for two different areas!
